Study Design: In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlledtrial, 126 healthy adults aged 18-55 took 200mg Reishi-derived B-glucan or placebo daily for 84 days.
Findings:CD3+, CD4+, and CD8+ T-cell counts significantly increased after
84 days in the Reishi B-glucan group (p < 0.05).
Natural killer (NK) cell counts and NK cell cytotoxicity improved
compared to placebo (p<0.05).

Study Design: This in vitro study evaluated the effects of lycopene,alone and in combination with cisplatin, on cervical (HeLa) cells.Over 72 hours, researchers assessed cell viability and measured keyprotein markers related to cell death, inflammation, and oxidative stress.
Findings:
· Lycopene reduced HeLa cell viability on its own and enhanced theapoptosis effect of cisplatin, lowering cell survival to 37.4% whencombined (P < 0.0001). Lycopene increased pro-apoptotic Bax expression anddecreased anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 expression (P < 0.0001).It also activated Nrf2 (oxidative stress defense) and suppressedNF-KB (inflammation), supporting its role in both antioxidant andanti-inflammatory pathways.
